When we first moved onto our dream lakestead in Lake Helen, the vision of peaceful days spent by the water seemed just a bit out of reach. Our lakefront was beautiful—but heavily overgrown with lily pads, weeds, and dense aquatic vegetation. Something had to be done!
Before the Cleanup: A Sea of Lily Pads
In this video, you’ll see exactly what we were facing: thick vegetation covering almost every inch of the lake. It was picturesque but completely unusable for swimming, fishing, or even canoeing. We knew we needed professional help to safely restore the lake to its natural beauty.
Lake Masters to the Rescue!
We reached out to Lake Masters, and they quickly got to work clearing out the lake. Watching their specialized equipment in action was fascinating—carefully removing the invasive growth without harming the lake’s natural ecosystem. We learned so much from the team about lake management and maintaining a healthy aquatic habitat.
After: Our Lakefront Transformed
The transformation was incredible! After Lake Masters completed the cleanup, our lakestead’s waterfront opened up beautifully. For the first time, we could clearly see and access the water. It immediately became our family’s favorite spot for relaxing, fishing, and spending quality time together.
What’s Next for Our Lakestead?
Now that our lakefront is clear and inviting, we’ve got big plans! Stay tuned as we set up our dock, introduce fish to our ecosystem, and maybe even start kayaking. We’re excited to continue sharing every step of our lakestead adventure with you.
